Our Dance Classes

Ballet

Isn’t it every little girl’s dream to become a ballerina?

We cater for everybody and welcome all abilities, those who want to come for fun and those who would like to pursue a career in dance. Ballet is a wonderful discipline for balance, control, poise, musicality, co-ordination and technical strength.

We train all pupils in R.A.D (Royal Academy of Dance) and can teach children from the ages of 18months, right up to Grade 8. We also offer all the vocational Grades and for those who wish to, exams can be taken every July (unless it's a show year). We have pointe work classes for pupils who are strong enough in their legs and feet, from age 11 years upwards and Grade 5/Inter-foundation upwards. We will of course advise when we feel pupils are ready.

We also have many students who are junior and mid associates with the Royal Ballet School and many other out reach associate programmes.

Modern

Modern dance is a style of dance that is seen in many West End shows such as Cats, Fame, Grease, Dirty Dancing, Joseph and Mama Mia. It can be fast fun and funky, yet also can be soft, beautiful and lyrical. It's great for flexibility, co-ordination, strengthening and posture.

We train pupils in the I.S.T.D (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) syllabus. Pupils can start in Primary at the age of 4 and can develop right the way through the grades to Advanced 2. Modern exams can be taken every December for those who wish to (unless it's a show year).

Commercial Jazz

Commercial Jazz is a fun free style class, performed to current chart music. This is a high energy and fast-moving class that still focuses on good jazz technique, flexibility and core strength with various jazz routines, similar to those you would see in the music videos. A great fun, performance class for all levels and abilities.

Contemporary

Contemporary Dance combines elements of several other dance styles including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and body through fluid dance movements.

Tap

Tap dancing involves making percussive sounds with the feet. It’s excellent for musicality, strengthening and toning whilst having great fun working with different rhythms and styles.

We teach the I.S.T.D (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance) syllabus from Primary through to Advanced 2 and exams can be taken every year in April for those who wish to (unless it's a show year).

Adult Tap and Ballet

You are never too old to learn to dance. We offer adult ballet and tap classes for anyone who wishes to come and learn a new skill and make some new friends. These are great fun classes for any ages and abilities so why not come and join us.

Musical Theatre

This is a fun class that any level and abilities can also attend. It’s a lovely class that involves teaching pupils about musical theatre and giving them the chance to work on singing, dancing and acting based on different musicals. This helps pupils to become an all-round performer, a skill that is needed in the professional world of today.

First Wedding Dances

You can also book a private wedding dance lesson for anyone who is gettng married and wants to learn a 'first dance'. You choose the song that means the most to you as a couple and we will choreograph your dance to whatever level suits you. If you have no dance experience at all it really doesn't matter as we can work out a dance that brings out the best in you and looks great. We love to be part of your special day.

Acro Dance

We follow the Acrobatic Arts professional curriculum for AcroDance. A program to promote excellence in flexibility, strength, balancing, limbering, basic contortion and partner/group stunting for dancers. AcroDance is the beautiful fusion of the artistic motion of dance and the athleticism of acrobatics. An essential skill to the modern day dancer.
